"Affliction"
This panel started with a photo of a bleeding heart
taken in my wife's garden.
I had saved a sheet of red Youghiogheny glass
that had always intrigued me.
It was the perfect "Bleeding Heart".
The religious symbolism of this blossom
reminds us of the red blood of the crucifixion,
the white purity of spirit
and the green stem of everlasting life.
